Corporate gifts for banks, NBFCs and wealth firms work best when you settle the gift policy before the product list: who may receive a gift, up to what value, and how it is recorded. This guide covers HNI and wealth-client gifts, branch-launch merchandise, the gift-TDS rule for agents and DSAs, employee gifts across a branch network, and CA Day on 1 July. The short answer is to choose modest, useful, clearly branded items, log every one against a written policy, and check tax treatment with your adviser before the festive rush.
Why BFSI corporate gifting is policy-first
Financial services firms handle other people's money. A gift that would pass unnoticed in a manufacturing company can look like an inducement when it comes from a relationship manager, a loan officer or an insurance distributor. That is why gifting in banking, NBFCs, insurance and wealth management starts with rules, not catalogues.
The rules that bind you usually come from two places: your own organisation's code of conduct and gift policy, and the recipient's policy. Regulator or industry-body guidance may also apply, depending on your licence. We are a gifting vendor, not a compliance adviser. Treat this section as a checklist to take to your compliance team, not a legal summary.
Questions to settle with compliance first
- Value caps: what is the maximum per recipient per occasion, and per financial year?
- Recipient categories: are clients, prospects, retail customers, employees, agents, DSAs, auditors and public-sector officials treated differently?
- Receiving-side limits: many organisations cap what their own staff can accept. A gift that breaks their rule embarrasses both sides.
- Recording: who keeps the gift register, and does it capture the recipient's name, PAN (where needed), item and value?
- Tax: who checks TDS on gifts to business associates, and who handles GST input-credit questions?
Corporate gifts for banks' HNI and wealth relationships
HNI and private-wealth clients rarely need more things. What lands is an item that fits how they already work: managing documents, meeting advisers, travelling. The gift should feel considered without looking lavish, which also keeps it inside most value caps.
Executive PU leather accessories are the natural fit. On our PU leather range, the logo is laser-engraved on a steel logo plate, so the branding looks discreet and premium rather than promotional. Browse the full Personal Accessories range for options.
Product Card: Premium PU Leather Chequebook Holder
A chequebook holder is a sensible pick for business-banking and family-office clients who still carry chequebooks and deposit slips. It is a practical item that ties directly to the banking relationship.
Product Card: Executive Metal Pen – Black & Gold
A laser-engraved metal pen is the classic signing-day gift. Hand it over at an account opening, a portfolio review or a loan sanction. Pair it with a Slim Premium Metal Business Card Holder for clients who network heavily, or a Multi-Card PU Leather Holder for those who carry several cards.
A ready kit for festive drops and portfolio reviews
If you want one box that does the work, the Executive Essential Pack groups a multi-purpose pouch, wallet, multi-card holder, passport holder, luggage tag and keychain in a magnetic gift box.
Branch launch merchandise and customer-facing giveaways
A branch opening is a local marketing event. You need volume at a low unit value for walk-in customers, a few better pieces for local business owners and community leaders, and something for the branch team to wear or carry on the day.
What works for walk-in customers
- Cotton tote bags with a DTF-printed logo. The Cotton Cloth Tote Bag is easy to reuse for groceries and errands, so your branch name keeps travelling around the neighbourhood.
- Sublimated ceramic mugs for local business owners and guests invited to the opening.
- Laser-engraved metal ball pens at the counter. They are low cost, practical and quick to hand out in volume.
For the branch team on launch day
Sublimated lanyards and pin-back badges help visitors spot staff. DTF-printed polos or round-neck tees keep the team looking uniform in photographs. Our Event & Print Essentials range covers the smaller pieces.
Check giveaway rules if the branch sells regulated products
If the branch distributes insurance or investment products, ask compliance whether a giveaway can be linked to a purchase or account opening. Rules on selling regulated products may restrict inducements to customers. Until compliance confirms, keep launch-day merchandise unconditional and low in value.
Agents, DSAs and channel partners: the TDS angle
Banks, NBFCs and insurers depend on direct selling agents (DSAs), insurance agents, sub-brokers and mutual-fund distributors. Festive gifts and incentive trips for this network are common. Here tax, not just policy, comes into play.
What the provision says
According to Bajaj Finserv, the old Section 194R required 10% TDS on specified business or professional benefits exceeding ₹20,000. From 1 April 2026, the corresponding provision sits under Section 393 of the Income-tax Act, 2025. TDSMAN's explainer gives the exact reference as Section 393(1) [Table: Sl. No. 8(iv)]. If your finance team still calls it 194R, that is the old name.
According to EbizFiling, the ₹20,000 threshold applies per recipient for the whole financial year. It covers gifts, free samples and sponsored trips. Once a recipient's total crosses the limit, TDS applies to the entire value, not just the excess. Confirm the current rate, and the rate where a recipient has not provided a PAN, with your tax adviser under the 2025 Act.
Does it apply to DSAs and insurance agents?
DSAs and agents earn commission from a business relationship with you, so it is reasonable to assume gifts to them could fall within scope. We have not seen agent-specific guidance, though, so confirm with your CA before the festive season.
In practice, the risk lies in accumulation. A ₹1,500 Diwali gift looks small on its own.
BFSI employee gifts across a branch network
BFSI employers often have staff spread across dozens or hundreds of branches, from metro head offices to semi-urban outlets. The gifting calendar tends to follow the business:
- Financial-year close in March, when targets are met and teams have worked long hours.
- Appraisal season, for recognition gifts to top performers.
- Diwali and regional festivals, the largest single drop.
- Campus hiring and trainee batches, when management trainees and probationary officers join together.
How gifts to employees are taxed is a separate question from the business-gift provision above. Check the current treatment with your payroll team and tax adviser before deciding values.
Making multi-branch delivery manageable
When you request a quote, share a branch-wise quantity sheet with one named consignee per branch. For apparel, collect size lists early, because they cause the most delays. We ship pan-India, so ask us how to split dispatches between head office and branches.
For ready kits, start with the desk and welcome packs on /preset-packs. If your HR team wants its own combination, such as a bottle, notebook and pen in brand colours, use Build Your Own Box.
CA Day (1 July) gifts for audit firms and finance teams
According to Business Standard, ICAI observes Chartered Accountants' Day on 1 July every year to mark the institute's founding in 1949. According to Wikipedia, ICAI had more than 4,00,000 members in 2024, so the day matters to a large professional community.
Who gifts on CA Day
- Audit and CA firms recognising their partners, staff and articled assistants.
- Companies and banks thanking their in-house finance team and the CAs they work with.
- NBFCs and wealth firms maintaining relationships with CAs who refer clients.
Audit firms often have their own independence and gift policies. If you are a client sending something to your statutory auditors, keep it token-value and check their policy first.
Gift ideas that suit CAs
Think desk and document tools. The Leatherette Organizer Folder, with a laser-engraved logo, suits anyone who carries working papers to client meetings. A laser-engraved executive metal pen or a soft-cover notebook also fits easily within a modest per-head budget.
The 1 July timeline
Production takes 7–10 business days after mockup approval, and air delivery takes another 2–4 business days. Count back about three business weeks from 1 July, so approve mockups by around the second week of June. If you are reading this later in June, ask us which items can move faster. Express is available only on selected products.
Branding methods, mockups and timelines for BFSI orders
Banks and NBFCs tend to have strict brand guidelines, so the branding method matters:
- Laser engraving on metal pens, metal card holders, and PU leather goods (on a steel logo plate). It gives a tonal, premium finish.
- DTF printing on totes, apparel and caps, for full-colour logos.
- Sublimation on ceramic mugs, lanyards and badges.
- Laser or UV on steel and aluminium drinkware.
Every order gets a digital mockup for approval before production, which suits BFSI approval chains where marketing and compliance both sign off. You can preview your logo on products yourself in Mockup Studio. Standard timelines are 7–10 business days of production after approval, then 2–4 business days by air or 5–9 by surface.

Frequently asked questions
Do we need to deduct TDS on gifts to DSAs or insurance agents?
Possibly. The business-gift TDS provision, now Section 393(1) [Table: Sl. No. 8(iv)] of the Income-tax Act, 2025, and formerly Section 194R, applies to benefits to business associates above ₹20,000 per recipient per year. DSAs and agents have a business relationship with you, so confirm their treatment with your tax adviser.
Does a ₹1,500 Diwali gift per partner count towards the ₹20,000 limit?
If the gift-TDS provision applies to that recipient, yes. It adds to their total for the financial year, along with other gifts, free samples and sponsored trips. According to EbizFiling, once the total crosses ₹20,000, TDS applies to the full value, so keep a recipient-wise register.
What gift value can bank or wealth-firm staff accept or give?
This depends on your organisation's code of conduct and the recipient's own policy. There is no single number we can quote. Ask compliance for written caps per recipient category before you order.
Can branch-launch giveaways break insurance or investment sales rules?
They may, if a giveaway is tied to buying a regulated product. Check with your compliance team before launch. Until they confirm, keep customer merchandise unconditional and low in value.
Can you brand gifts and deliver them to employees in every branch?
Yes, we ship pan-India.
