Startup Swag on a Budget: What ₹50,000, ₹2 Lakh and ₹5 Lakh Actually Buy

Startup swag planned by total budget: what ₹50,000, ₹2 lakh and ₹5 lakh buy in hoodies, tees, stickers and packs for teams of 20–150, in headcount terms.

Startup swag in India works best when you plan from the total budget down: ₹50,000 brands a hoodie, cap and sticker drop for about 55 people, ₹2 lakh gives a 100-person team a full hoodie pack plus a launch T-shirt, and ₹5 lakh funds a year of swag for around 150. This guide works through all three scenarios in headcount terms for teams of 20–150, then covers hoodies vs T-shirts, stickers, and the launch, fundraise and offsite moments worth spending on.

Why startup swag is culture, not marketing

For a large company, branded merchandise is often a marketing line item. For a startup of 20 to 150 people, it does a different job. It is how a team that may be split across a co-working floor, two cities and a dozen home offices starts to feel like one company.

The competition for people is real. According to a PIB press release, DPIIT had recognised 2,12,283 entities as startups as on 31 January 2026. Many of them are hiring from the same pool of engineers, designers and sales talent. A hoodie that people choose to wear on a Monday says more about your culture than a careers page.

That changes how you should spend. Startup swag should be:

- Worn or used daily: apparel, bottles and laptop stickers beat desk clutter.

- Designed like product: a clean mark, a good colour, nothing that looks like a trade-show freebie.

- Timed to moments: joining day, launch day, funding news, the first offsite.

How we worked out these startup swag scenarios

Every scenario below is in headcount terms rather than typed prices, because prices change and the product cards on this page always show the live figure. Here is the method, so you can rerun it for your own team.

- Budgets are product spend before GST. Every Printing Labs listed price already includes standard logo branding and excludes GST.

- Bulk tiers apply on most products: 3 % off at 25+ units, 5 % at 50+, 7 % at 100+ and 10 % at 200+. Packs are priced item by item.

- Headcounts are rounded down and assume one of each item per person.

- GST and delivery are not in these figures. If your budget figure is all-in, keep a buffer and trim the headcount. GST depends on each product's HSN code, so confirm rates with your accountant.

Your quote will confirm the final numbers, including delivery to your locations.

Scenario 1: what ₹50,000 buys a 50–70 person startup

At ₹50,000, put the money into things people wear. Skip rigid gift boxes and gourmet add-ons at this budget. Every rupee should end up on a person, not in a recycling bin.

Option A: the hoodie drop (about 55 people)

Give everyone a Premium Cotton Hoodie and a Premium Cotton Cap, plus one Laptop Stickers - Set of 2 each. At the 50+ tier, that covers about 55 people before GST and delivery. Spend anything left over on extra sticker sets for people to hand out.

The hoodie fits because it tends to be the item people hold on to. It works in air-conditioned offices all year, and it is branded with DTF printing, which handles full-colour logos well.

Option B: the everyday kit (about 70 people)

If your team sits in a warmer city or you would rather reach more people, swap the hoodie for a Round Neck Cotton T-Shirt - 180 GSM. Add a Cotton Cloth Tote Bag, the cap and a sticker set. That stretches ₹50,000 to about 70 people at the 50+ tier.

Both options sit comfortably in the per-head range covered on our corporate gifts under ₹1,000 page.

Scenario 2: what ₹2 lakh buys a 100-person team

At ₹2 lakh you can give everyone a proper kit and still fund a second moment later in the year.

The core: a hoodie pack for everyone

The Goodie Hoodie Swag Pack bundles the Premium Cotton Hoodie with a steel water bottle, a ceramic mug, a jute bag and a spiral notepad. For 100 people at the 100+ tier, plus a sticker set each, it uses roughly three-quarters of the budget.

It suits a startup because nearly every item is used daily at a desk or on a commute. Nothing in it reads as corporate filler.

The second moment: an event batch

The remaining quarter funds about 100 round neck T-shirts for a product launch, a hiring drive or the annual offsite. That still leaves a small cushion towards delivery.

Why crossing 100 units matters

If your team is 90 people, price 100 units. Crossing 100 moves most lines from the 5 % tier to the 7 % tier. The spare kits then cover the next ten joiners without a fresh small order.

Scenario 3: what ₹5 lakh buys a 150-person startup over a year

At ₹5 lakh, stop thinking in one drop. Plan swag across the financial year, matched to moments.

- April–June (new financial year, campus joiners): a Company Culture Pack for all 150 people. This uses roughly two-fifths of the budget.

- Offsite or anniversary: a T-shirt and cap for everyone, about 15 % of the budget.

- November–January (winter): a hoodie drop for all 150, roughly a fifth of the budget.

- All year: 500 laptop sticker sets at the 200+ tier, a tiny share that spreads furthest.

- The last fifth: about 60 more culture packs for joiners through the year, or headroom for delivery and GST.

Product Card: Company Culture Pack

The Company Culture Pack works as the anchor. It covers a T-shirt, tote, cap, steel bottle, mug and notepad in a magnetic box, which gives a joining-day unboxing moment without a separate packaging decision.

At this size, a company brand store is also worth a look. Employees pick their own sizes and styles from a branded storefront, so HR is not chasing 150 size forms.

The hoodie question: hoodies vs T-shirts in Indian weather

Hoodies are the unofficial uniform of startup culture, but Indian weather is not uniform.

- Hoodies make sense in Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad and Delhi NCR winters, and in any office where the air-conditioning runs cold all year.

- T-shirts get worn more in humid coastal cities such as Chennai, Mumbai and Kolkata, where a hoodie may live in a cupboard.

- A middle path is the Premium Cotton Sweatshirt, which skips the hood for a simpler layer.

For a team split across cities, offer both and let people choose. A brand store or a simple form handles this well.

Getting hoodie sizes right

Collect sizes before you request a quote, not after the mockup. Order a few spares in the middle sizes for exchanges and new joiners. For more detail on fabrics, sizes and turnaround, see our guide to bulk T-shirt and apparel printing.

Design that people actually wear

A small chest logo with a larger back print usually beats a giant front logo. Listed prices cover standard logo branding, so ask us whether a second print position changes your quote. Startups with a strong visual identity can try a tagline or an internal joke on the back. That is the kind of detail that gets a hoodie worn outside the office.

Stickers, caps and totes: the small things that spread the brand

The cheapest items in a startup swag order often travel furthest. A laptop sticker gets seen in cafés, on flights and in every video call where the laptop lid is in frame.

Product Card: Laptop Stickers - Set of 2

Stickers are digitally printed, so full-colour artwork is fine. Order more than your headcount. Give each employee a few extra sets to share, and keep a stack for meetups, campus visits and demo days.

Sticker design tips

- Design a mark that reads clearly at small sizes.

- Send vector artwork (AI, SVG or PDF) for crisp edges.

- Make one sticker your logo and the other something fun: a mascot, an internal phrase, a product icon.

Caps and totes

Caps work at offsites, sports days and outdoor launches. The cotton tote becomes a grocery and laptop-charger bag, so it is seen around town for months. Both are DTF printed, and the tote is a natural fit if sustainability is part of your story.

Timing swag around launches, fundraises and offsites

Swag timed to a moment lands harder than swag that turns up randomly. Work backwards from the date.

- Production takes 7–10 business days after mockup approval.

- Delivery takes 2–4 business days by air or 5–9 by surface.

- Express production is possible only on selected items, so ask us if you are short on time.

In practice, start about four weeks ahead if you are shipping by air, and closer to five by surface. That leaves room for design and mockup rounds.

Product launch

Matching T-shirts for the whole team on launch day make the photos and social posts look like a company, not a group of individuals. Add stickers so early users can be handed something.

Funding announcement

A funding round is a good excuse for a hoodie drop. It rewards the team that got you there and is timed for the hiring push that usually follows. Keep the design about the team, not the amount raised.

Team offsite

Caps, T-shirts and bottles do the heavy lifting. The ready-made preset packs include team and event kits that can be branded and shipped together. If you want to mix your own, build your own box item by item.

Getting a startup swag order right the first time

Most delays on small-team orders come from missing inputs, not production. Have these ready before you ask for a quote.

- Logo files in vector format, plus your brand colours.

- A size list for every apparel item, with a few spares.

- Delivery addresses: one office, or a list if your team is remote.

- Billing details, including your GSTIN. Every order comes with a GST invoice.

- Your key date, such as a launch, offsite or joining day.

Before production, you approve a digital mockup, so you see exactly where the logo sits. You can preview it yourself first in the Mockup Studio.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order for startup swag like hoodies and T-shirts?

Our buyers typically order from 25 units upwards, and bulk discounts start at 25 units on most products. If your team is smaller, ask us and we will tell you what is possible for the items you want.

How early should we order swag before a launch or offsite?

Production takes 7–10 business days after you approve the mockup. Delivery then takes 2–4 business days by air or 5–9 by surface. Start about four weeks ahead for air delivery and closer to five for surface, to leave room for design changes. Express is available only on selected items, so ask us if your date is tight.

Do you offer embroidery on hoodies and caps?

Embroidery is currently paused. Hoodies, T-shirts, caps and totes are branded with DTF printing, which reproduces full-colour logos and detailed artwork well.

Is GST included in the prices?

No. Listed prices include standard logo branding but exclude GST, which is added at the rate for each product's HSN code. Every order comes with a GST invoice. Whether you can claim input tax credit depends on how the swag is used, so check with your CA.

Can we ship swag to remote employees in different cities?

We ship pan-India. Share your address list when you request a quote, and we will confirm how the order can be split and dispatched.

Can we see our logo on the products before we pay for production?

Yes.
