Corporate Gifting for IT Companies and GCCs: Onboarding, Hybrid Teams and Two Calendars
An IT and GCC gifting playbook: onboarding kits that keep pace with hiring, hybrid delivery, and one plan covering Diwali, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The best corporate gifts for IT companies and GCCs come from two planned programmes: an onboarding kit system that keeps pace with hiring, and a gifting calendar that covers Diwali for Indian teams plus Thanksgiving and Christmas for US clients and parent-company colleagues. This guide shows how to build both, how to handle office and home deliveries, and which laptop-life products are worth the spend. It also covers how to mark go-lives and hackathons without a last-minute rush.
Why corporate gifts for IT companies and GCCs need their own playbook
An IT services firm or a Global Capability Centre does not gift the way a manufacturer or a retailer does. Hiring comes in waves: campus batches, lateral cohorts and ramp-ups for a new client account. Teams are split between office and home. A large share of the work is delivered to clients or a parent company in another time zone.
The scale is significant. According to the Zinnov-nasscom India GCC Landscape Report 2026, India has 2,117 GCCs employing 2.36 million people, and that count of centres represents 32% growth since FY2021. According to a PIB backgrounder dated 11 December 2025, the sector is projected to reach nearly 2,400 centres employing over 2.8 million professionals by 2030. Every one of those roles starts with a new joiner who needs a laptop, an ID card and, ideally, a welcome kit.
Three things set IT and GCC gifting apart:
- Volume is continuous, not seasonal. Onboarding runs every month. Festive gifting comes on top of it.
- Delivery addresses are mixed. Some joiners collect a kit at the office on day one. Others work remotely and need it at home.
- There are two audiences and two calendars. Indian teams celebrate Diwali. US clients and parent-company teams mark Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Onboarding at scale: treating the welcome kit as a system
Onboarding is where most of the steady volume sits. eYantra's 2023 report surveyed over 7,000 HR professionals, employees and founders. According to eYantra, over 26% of corporate gifting spend goes on employee onboarding rituals such as joining kits, and 78.4% of employers rely on welcome kits. It is a vendor report and it covers all sectors, not only IT. Even so, the direction is clear: for companies that hire continuously, the welcome kit is a recurring line item, not a one-off.
Treating the kit as a system means three things. You fix one specification. You plan stock against the hiring forecast. You review the kit once a year rather than redesigning it for every batch.
Lock a core kit, then flex by level
Start with a core that every joiner receives, whether a fresher or a principal engineer:
- a laptop backpack
- an insulated bottle
- a notebook and pen
- laptop stickers
- a printed welcome card
Then add a small number of extras by level or role. A laptop stand suits engineers who will work from home two or three days a week. Wireless earbuds suit senior lateral hires. This keeps the spec simple for procurement while senior joiners still get a kit that feels considered.
Product Card: Warm Welcome Kit
The Warm Welcome Kit is a strong default for campus and early-career batches.
New GCCs: building onboarding from day one
Many new centres are setting up onboarding with nothing in place. According to the Zinnov-nasscom Mid-market GCC 2025 report, over 480 mid-market GCCs now operate across India, employing more than 210,000 professionals, and 35% of them were set up between FY23 and FY25. A new centre hiring its first 50 or 200 people usually has no existing swag and no vendor, and its brand guidelines sit with headquarters.
The quickest route is to start from a ready kit on our preset packs page. Adjust it in Build Your Box if HQ wants specific items. Then lock the specification for the year.
Co-branding with a global parent brand
Most GCCs carry the parent brand, sometimes alongside the name of the Indian entity. Every order goes through digital mockup approval before production. That gives the HQ brand team a chance to check placement and colour before anything is printed. You can also preview your logo yourself in Mockup Studio and share the result with HQ.
The print method matters for a multi-colour parent logo:
- DTF printing on backpacks and apparel reproduces full colour.
- Laser engraving on the aluminium laptop stand and the bamboo earbuds produces a single-tone etch.
- Laser or UV printing is used on steel bottles.
If you want the parent and Indian-entity names together, the simplest route is a single combined logo artwork.
Hybrid team gifting: office drops and home deliveries
Hybrid teams usually need two delivery flows. The first is a bulk drop to each office, such as your Bengaluru, Hyderabad or Pune floors, for joiners who start on site. The second is a set of individual deliveries to the homes of remote joiners and team members.
A few habits keep this manageable:
- Collect delivery addresses with the joining paperwork, not the week before the kit ships.
- Keep two lists: office consignments and home addresses. Share both at quote stage and ask us how to split the order.
- Choose the shipping mode by deadline. Surface works for office stock built up ahead of time. Air suits a joining date that is close.
- Think about packaging for home delivery. A magnetic box presents well when a kit is handed over in person. A sturdy mailer box protects kits sent by courier. Packaging is sold only with other products, never on its own.
For large, spread-out teams, a company swag store can replace a fixed kit altogether. Employees choose the items they want and redeem them. See how brand stores work if you want a self-serve option alongside onboarding kits.
Two calendars: Diwali, then Thanksgiving and Christmas
Indian teams expect a Diwali gift. US clients and parent-company colleagues mark Thanksgiving and then Christmas. Diwali falls in October or November, so check the exact 2027 date on your company holiday list. Depending on the year, it can land only a few weeks before Thanksgiving.
The practical answer is one planning window in July and August that covers both festivals. You place two orders, but you need only one round of vendor alignment. Our Diwali and festive gifting hub has ready festive packs. Remember that dry fruits, chocolates and candles are add-ons, sold only with at least one other product.
Working back from Thanksgiving, 25 November 2027
Thanksgiving 2027 falls on Thursday 25 November. It is mainly a US holiday, so treat it as gifting for US client teams and parent-company colleagues, not as a global occasion. Some GCCs also use it to thank the India-based teams that serve US accounts.
Work back from the date like this:
- Aim for delivery by Monday 22 November.
- Allow 2–4 business days by air, which means dispatch around 16–17 November.
- Allow up to 10 business days of production, which means mockup approval by early November.
- Add a buffer and target final mockup approval in the last week of October, especially if Diwali production is running in the same weeks.
We ship pan-India. If gifts need to reach colleagues abroad, talk to us before you plan around it.
Laptop-life products that earn their place in tech company swag
Tech teams quickly forget gifts that do not fit how they work. These products have a better chance of staying on the desk because they belong to a laptop-centred day:
- Laptop Stand - Aluminum: laser-engraved, and useful on home desks and hot desks. It sits in the under ₹500 band.
- Premium Casual Waterproof Laptop Backpack: DTF-printed, and built for monsoon commutes in Bengaluru, Pune and Mumbai. It fits the under ₹1,000 band.
- Smart Temperature Insulated Bottle - Black: laser or UV branded, and the bottle that goes from desk to stand-up to meeting room. It is under ₹500.
- Cherry Bamboo Wireless Earbuds: laser-engraved bamboo, and suited to a job full of calls. It falls in the ₹1,000–₹2,000 band.
- Laptop Stickers - Set of 2: digitally printed. They are low-cost, engineers stick them on laptops and bottles, and they carry your brand into every meeting.

Skip items that duplicate what IT already issues, and anything too bulky for a hot desk. Mobile stands, mouse pads and pendrives in our tech range are useful small add-ins.
Project wins, go-lives and hackathons
The moments that matter most in IT are often project moments, not festivals.
- Go-lives. The core team is small and timing matters, so the gift should arrive within a week or two of launch. Because production takes 7–10 business days, order when the go-live date is fixed rather than after the launch party. Earbuds or a laptop stand with a printed thank-you card naming the project work well.
- Hackathons and tech fests. Order DTF-printed T-shirts and hoodies, along with stickers and bottles. Order two to three weeks ahead and confirm sizes early.
- Client milestones. A small gift to the client's project team at a release or renewal builds goodwill. Plan for the client's calendar as well as your own.
Budgets, bulk discounts and GST for IT procurement
IT and GCC procurement teams usually want three things: a clean per-unit figure, predictable tiers and a proper invoice.
Here is how the main budget bands work out:
- Under ₹500: single items such as the laptop stand, the insulated bottle or stickers.
- Under ₹1,000: the waterproof backpack on its own.
- ₹2,000–₹3,000: complete welcome kits such as the Warm Welcome Kit and the Signature Selection Kit.
Every listed price includes standard logo branding and excludes GST. Every order comes with a GST invoice. For HSN codes and how GST applies to kits, see our GST guide for corporate gifts.
Gifting across Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune tech hubs
Most IT companies and GCCs cluster in a handful of cities. That makes it easier to plan office drops and to work out shipping times. Our city pages for Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune cover local planning. We ship pan-India from Ahmedabad, so a single vendor can supply every office.

Frequently asked questions
Can one order ship welcome kits to new joiners' home addresses in different cities?
We ship pan-India. Delivery takes 2–4 business days by air or 5–9 by surface after production. Share your office and home address lists at quote stage and ask us how to split the order between them. Collecting addresses along with joining paperwork avoids last-minute gaps.
What is the minimum order, and how fast can you turn kits around for monthly hiring batches?
Bulk discount tiers start at 25 units on most products, and you can ask us about minimums for a specific item. Production takes 7–10 business days after mockup approval, plus delivery time. Many teams find it easier to order a quarter's kits at once and hold stock at the office.
Can the kit be co-branded for a GCC with a global parent brand?
Yes. Supply a combined logo artwork, or raise a second logo position at quote stage so it is priced and shown in the digital mockup, which HQ can review before production. Keep in mind that laser-engraved items render a multi-colour logo in a single tone, while DTF on bags and apparel reproduces full colour.
When should we order for both Diwali and Thanksgiving?
Plan both in July and August. For Thanksgiving on 25 November 2027, aim to approve mockups in the last week of October.
